Spring
In spring, the countryside is the most beautiful. Birds are nesting, nature is waking up from its winter sleep, and the air is filled with lovely scents as flowers and trees bloom. In this season, meadows and fields are tended to, fences in pastures are beeing repaired, crops are sown, and livestock is released from the barn.
Summer
In summer, the countryside is busy with mowing and haymaking. Since the village Barka is situated on a hillock, it never gets too hot, as a cool fresh breeze blows. During this season, tourism flourishes, with guests from cities, valleys, and abroad coming to enjoy unspoiled nature, peace, fresh air, and a wide range of local food and drinks, which are plentiful in the village.
Autumn
Autumn dresses nature in beautiful colors. It’s also the time to harvest and store the crops planted in the spring. The village is known for its fruit, especially apples and plums. Guests can bite into juicy fruit, taste homemade apple juices, apple cider vinegar, and of course, plum brandy. All of this can be sampled at nearby farms.
Winter
Winter is the time for traditional pig slaughter. The air is filled with the smell of blood sausages, sausages, and the smokehouses are filled with sausages, prosciutto, pancetta, and other cured meats. Winter brings a true winter idyll and plenty of snow. Guests can go sledding, walk through the snowy landscape, have snowball fights, build snowmen, or simply enjoy the warmth of the sauna and jacuzzi.
